I had a great time at the Maine Comic Arts Festival last weekend! There were a lot of awesome creators there, and I was impressed by the variety and quality of the comics I saw, although unfortunately I didn’t have a whole lot of time to walk around and buy things (though maybe it’s good–I haven’t had a chance to give all the comics I picked up at MoCCA the time and attention they deserve yet, so it may be better that I’m not adding too much to the stack).
It’s been a busy couple of months, but they’ve been fantastic. I’ve gotten to see so many fantastic comics and finally get some of the comics and illustrations I’ve been working on the past year into people’s hands, and it has all been really lovely.
The day before MeCAF, I graduated from The Center for Cartoon Studies with my MFA. I’m still a bit baffled to discover that two years have passed so quickly, and I suddenly have a Masters degree in Comics. I have learned so much in that time, and befriended so many talented and amazing people. It was a wonderful two years, and I’m sad that it’s over, but excited to see where we all go next.
