Next up in Wits End (and other stories)

Issue 2 will conclude September 1st–a week from Monday.  Everything is written for issue 3 (and 4 and 5), but I have a lot of drawing left to do.  This next issue is going to be 32 pages, the longest installment so far.  I’m going to take the rest of August and the month of September to finish this story, and you can expect to start seeing updates sometime in October.  I’m very excited about this issue–issue 2 was a chance for me to draw some of the quieter moments in these characters’ lives, but issue 3 gets into some action and introduces a new character who is near and dear to my heart.  You can follow me on Tumblr to get updates when I start posting new pages.

In the mean time, Dog City has just announced the latest installment of their anthology-in-a-box, Dog City 3.  This collection of mini comics will be released September 5th, and it contains a 16 page mini-comic about a blind date that I collaborated on with Tom O’Brien.  You can preorder Dog City 3 now and not only receive 8 new pages drawn by yours truly, but a whole box of crazy comics, prints and posters in a screen printed box.  Dog City tends to run more mature comics than I publish here, and I would not recommend this collection for children, but I expect a wide variety of great comics in this collection.  I absolutely recommend it to anyone looking to start or expand a collection of independent comics.  You can check out Dog City’s Tumblr for more information.

AND, if you need more comics to tide you over until Wits End returns, I recommend Ben Gowen’s Minimum Mage.  Ben makes ridiculously funny comics, appropriate for all ages, and is currently working on a series starring two misfit wizards in a dead end job. He’s just started posting a short story where they deal with a garbage wizard, which will be followed by a longer tale involving a ghost conquistador, an undead Quetzalcoatl, and flaming chickens.

Enjoy the comics.
