Produce

I went to Walmart today.  I had a short list of things that I needed, and a vague note ‘buy snack food’ attached.  Some days I am very sad that I don’t do more of my own cooking, because I walk trough the produce section of any grocery store and I want to buy green beans and avocados and peaches and plums and lemons and onions and coconuts, but I can’t.  Unless I have a specific plan to cook it within the next 48 hours it’s going to sit in my fridge and go bad, because eating in the cafeteria is easier and I don’t do enough of my own cooking to get them eaten.  And it is sad.  So I am relegated to purchasing snack food that will last forever.  I went with dried fruit, peanut M&Ms and Whirled Peace ice cream.   The fact that I will absolutely enjoy all of these things makes the fact that I can’t buy decent bread without watching it turn green and have to be selective about my choices in cheese for the same reason easier to bear.  One of these days my love of fresh foods will overcome my laziness.  And then I will buy out the produce section.

On a completely different note, my computer is dead.  I don’t know what exactly is wrong with it, but it is totally, completely, absolutely nonfunctional.  I’m working on getting that fixed, but in the mean time I’m trying to figure out how to keep this from disrupting my everyday life.  Part of that everyday life is this comic.  My roommate has generously offered to let me use her laptop and scanner, so updates should go on according to plan, but in case something doesn’t work out exactly like normal you will know why.   Anyway, see you Tuesday.
