This past week was Finals Week and tomorrow I am driving home and will not be posting a page. I’m sorry, I wish I was updating faster. I really wanted to wrap up Chapter 3 before the winter interim began. As it is, it may be awhile before I get the next page posted.
The first and most obvious reason for this is that I will not have consistent access to a scanner at home, as mine is going to be staying in the dorm unless I have separation anxiety tomorrow morning and change my mind. Having it might not change anything, as the computer situation is still kind of up in the air. We’ll see how that goes.
The second is that despite it seeming like I’ll have tons of time over the break, I probably won’t. Things get busy fast. But I will be very disappointed if don’t at very least make some progress outlining and sketching the next story or drawing the final pages of Emma, and I’ve thought a little about doing a 24 hour comic (though that will probably have to wait until summer). Building up some buffer would be awesome too. I just don’t know what I’ll have time for.
The final reason, and one of the reasons that I don’t know how busy I’ll be or what will be going on from day to day, is that we do not know how much longer my grandfather is going to be with us. The most recent diagnosis didn’t give him very long. Family is always important over the holidays (regardless of which holidays you do or don’t celebrate) but it is going to be particularly important this year, because regardless of how much longer he’s with us these fragile days of waiting are not going to be easy.
I thank you all for your patience. I will return with updates in January if not sooner.
