Nostalgia

I am now officially on Fall Break.

It feels lovely. I know that I still have responsibilities and things which must be done, but for this minute I can sit and breathe in complete stillness and quiet.

Before I forget about the comic related stuff I wanted to say, let me jot that down here. First off: There will be no update Friday. I mentioned that previously, but I will say it again. I will be on break, and while I am I will be purchasing further materials because I am running desperately short of the paper I use for this. The next update will be Tuesday. Also, there is a new vote incentive posted.

You know those weeks when nostalgia wants to hang out and watch movies at your place, and you can’t kick him out because he’s a concept, not a person, so you end up sitting around and sighing for all the awesome stuff you miss? That’s were I’ve been the past few days.

It’s no so terribly bad.  Sometimes Nostalgia stops by just to punch me in the gut, and then wants to go stroll around town with me, kicking me in the shins every so often.  This week I’ve been looking up some of my favorite webcomics from back when and wishing they would update, because back in the day they were my oxygen. All that got me through some days of high school without being even less happy than I was were the words “Relax, we understand j00” at the top of the page on Megatokyo, and my own typing of “Don’t Panic” in the screen of ever school calculator I ever used.

My favorite web comic though, was Demonology 101, and, when I’d finished that, Faith’s other comic, Ice. To this day Ice is one of my favorite things on the web. Last week I read all the way through once, and a day later I was just about ready to do so again.  I don’t know what it is about her work, and that comic specifically, that has such a strong hold on me, but Faith is one of my artistic heroes.

So I want to share my nostaligia.  Go stop by Faith’s web page and check out her comics.  When you’re done, go watch the Ice fan film I made a few years back.  And then comment, and tell me what comic makes you most nostalgic.

I know.  I’m giving you homework over a break.  Shame on me.
