Thanksgiving

I am thankful that:

I am at a great school with great classmates, studying something I love.

Walker and I have been a largely positive part of each others lives the past year and a half.

My family loves and supports me.

My pets will be there to see me when I visit in December.

My sister has had a great experience in Thailand.

She’s getting home soon, and we’ll get to spend time with family over the holidays (we need cousin time).

I had a well enough stocked kitchen that despite failing to realize that stores would be closed today, I was able to put together food I was proud to share.

Tom lent me his cookie sheet a month ago and seems to be leaving it here indefinitely, so I can have two pans in the oven at the same time.

My baking experiments have been going well.

It’s cold outside, but not horrendous, and my apartment is comfortably warm.

Sometime this winter, it’s going to snow, and it’s going to be absolutely beautiful.

Utilities are included in my rent.

Last week I got a graphic novel by an alum, and I love it.

The comics I’m working on right now make me happy, even if not everyone else loves them.

Despite having  wounded one finger with an annoyingly placed paper cut and two others with a burns from hot tea, I still have enough uninjured fingers to muddle through songs on the guitar.

Despite being away from my family for the first Thanksgiving I can remember, I had a good one.

And I am thankful for life, health, a roof, a full stomach, people I love, stories to read and to tell, internet at my fingertips (even if it’s spotty sometimes), books on my shelf, and all the tiny fantastic things that make the world wonderful.
